The honest answers.
Do I need to sign in to use it?
No. Open the app and clock in. Every completed shift gets sealed locally at clock-out whether you're signed in or not. Sign in only when you want cloud backup or to restore on a new phone.
What does “sealed” actually mean?
At clock-out, every field on the shift gets hashed into a tamper-evident fingerprint and chained to the shift before it. The seal is computed and stored on your phone — nothing leaves the device for the seal to work. If you edit a sealed shift later, the change is recorded as a modification on top of the original; the seal isn't silently overwritten.
Where do my photos live?
On your device. Shift Capture stores a local reference and your caption — the image bytes never leave the phone unless you export the shift yourself.
Does Worksite track me in the background?
No. Foreground only, while a shift is running, and only after you turn it on. There is no background location anywhere in the app.
What's free vs. Professional?
Time tracking, planning, history, earnings, cloud backup, and Shift Seal are free forever. Professional ($35/year with a 7-day trial, or $4.99/month with a 3-day trial) adds Sleep, Stress, and Scope Creep insights, Worksite + Capture confidence scoring, Shift Reports, and expanded Work Addresses (2 per client, 10 total).
Can I get a refund if I don't like Pro?
Refunds are handled by the App Store and Google Play, not by us. Both stores honor refund requests; the in-app trial gives you a window before you're charged.
Do you sell or share my data?
No. No ads, no third-party analytics, no broker pipelines. Cloud backup uploads only your own snapshot to your own account.
Will this sync with the Felmark web app?
Eventually. For now Shift is its own product with its own backup. A connected web dashboard is on the roadmap, not in v1.
